Billing and management for the MikroTik routers you already run.
Add a MikroTik by pasting one command into its terminal. Subnetwave sets up RADIUS for PPPoE and hotspot, a secure management tunnel that works behind CGNAT, and reports back - then bills your customers and keeps an eye on every router.
What you get
One-command router setup
Copy the setup command from Subnetwave, paste it into the router terminal, and it configures itself - management access, RADIUS and the tunnel. Works on RouterOS 7 and on older RouterOS 6 routers.
Reachable behind CGNAT
Each router dials a WireGuard tunnel back to the platform, so you can manage it even without a public IP address.
Central RADIUS for PPPoE and hotspot
Customer logins, speeds and access are decided centrally. Change a plan and the new speed applies straight away, without editing the router.
Live router health
Online or offline, CPU, memory, uptime and who is connected - for every router, every site, on one overview with alerts when something goes down.
Traffic and data used per router
The internet (WAN) port is detected automatically, so you see each router's live speed and data used over the last 30 days, per router or per site.
Remote management with TR-069
Routers and customer devices check in with the built-in device manager, so you can see and manage them remotely.
How it works
- 01
Add the router
Give it a name and site, then run the generated setup command on the MikroTik.
- 02
Create plans and customers
PPPoE plans with speeds and billing cycles, hotspot packages by time or data.
- 03
Customers pay with M-Pesa
Payments are matched to the right account automatically and access is renewed.
- 04
Non-payment is handled
Reminders go out by SMS, WhatsApp or email; unpaid accounts are suspended and reconnect the moment they pay.
Questions
Which MikroTik routers does Subnetwave work with?
Any MikroTik running RouterOS 7, from a hAP lite to CCRs. RouterOS 6 routers are supported too; the management tunnel needs RouterOS 7, so we recommend upgrading those.
Do I need a public IP address on my router?
No. Each router connects to Subnetwave through its own WireGuard tunnel, so it can be managed even behind CGNAT.
Can I bill PPPoE and hotspot customers on the same router?
Yes. RADIUS handles both PPPoE logins and hotspot logins, and both kinds of customer are billed from one dashboard.
What happens when a customer does not pay?
They get reminders before the due date. When access expires they are suspended, and they reconnect automatically as soon as their payment comes in.
